What is Mint?

Mint.com is a free web-based personal financial management service created by entrepreneur Aaron Patzer. Mint provides account aggregation through a deal with Yodlee. Mint’s primary service allows for users to track bank, credit card, investment, and loan transactions and balances through a single user interface. (read more at Wikipedia)

What you may not know about Mint

You can create customized budgets for different categories such as entertainment, groceries, gas and more. Then you can set mobile alerts to be sent to your cell phone when you’re approaching your budget limit.  Say for instance you create a category for your bar tabs.  You go to the bar, spend money, and don’t really keep track of how much money you’re spending on drinks.  Well now with Mint you can set yourself a limit and you’ll get a text message on your phone when you’re spending too much.  This is a great way to manage your spending regardless of where you’re at.

What is TripIt?

TripIt.com is a tool for organizing all of your travel.  Just forward over your email confirmations from your airlines and hotel reservations and let TripIt help organize your trips.  You can even set up resturant booking, event ticket purchases and more for your trip.  Then print out an itenrary with all of your trips vitals such as confirmation numbers, dates times, departures, arrivals, maps, phone numbers, and even the weather predictions!  It’s the ultimate tool for travelers.

What you may not know about TripIt

TripIt has a built in social networking system that not only allows you to plan and organize your trips with your friends an colleagues, but it also shares with you which of your friends are going to be traveling to the same location as you.  So now you can call them up and arrange for drinks with them while you’re both traveling to the same location!  You can even see which of your friends are traveling to your home town, so you can see if they have time to meet up with you and catch up over a cup of coffee.

What is Think Geek?

ThinkGeek is an electronic commerce company and online retailer based in Fairfax, Virginia and a subsidiary of SourceForge, Inc.. It sells items that mostly cater to PC enthusiasts and other “geeky” social groups. What you may not know about Think Geek

Think Geek offers a wide variety of t-shirts as well as illuminate t-shirts that are considered ‘interactactive’.  They also have many cool gadgets and tech toys that you may have never seen before.  Furthermore their extensive caffeine store has everything from Bawls to Shower Shock soap (yes, thats caffeniated soap)
