What is Justin.tv?

Justin.tv, founded in San Francisco by Justin Kan, is a network of diverse channels providing a platform for lifecasting and live video streaming of events online. The original Justin.tv was a single channel that evolved into the Justin.tv network of thousands of diverse channels.  Justin.tv follows the tradition of sousveillance, i.e. the recording of an activity from the perspective of a participant in the activity. What you may not know about Justin.tv

It doesn’t take any special software to install on your computer, just a webcam and/or a microphone and you start to broadcast yourself live on the internet.  Justin.tv also allows you to archive your recordings for later viewings.  Each channel has a chat room which allows current viewers to chat and discuss the events in the video.

What is MTurk?

The Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) is one of the suite of Amazon Web Services, a crowdsourcing marketplace that enables computer programs to co-ordinate the use of human intelligence to perform tasks which computers are unable to do. Requesters, the human beings that write these programs, are able to pose tasks known as HITs (Human Intelligence Tasks), such as choosing the best among several photographs of a storefront, writing product descriptions, or identifying performers on music CDs. Workers (called Providers in Mechanical Turk’s Terms of Service) can then browse among existing tasks and complete them for a monetary payment set by the Requester. (read more at Wikipedia)

What you may not know about MTurk

If you’re looking to make some extra cash with nearly no thinking or experience you can complete a multitude of tasks in as little as 30 minutes, making you money for each task you complete.  So instead of just wasting your time on the internet, find HITS on Mturk related to something that interests you and get paid for doing tasks you like on the internet.

What is FatWallet?

FatWallet is a bargain hunting website, centering around a set of forums that allow users to publish deals and rebate offers on a comprehensive range of products and services, though computer-related products dominate the listings. Fatwallet

FatWallet has an excellent forum in which it’s 1000’s of users upload hot deals on products on the internet and retail stores.  It’s amazing to see how you can get great deals by using coupon codes, mail in rebates, or buying a combination of items for discount.  Sometime Froogle can only take it so far, let FatWallets Hot Deal forums take it one step further and give the power to the community.
