<p>TechCrunch has a feature called CrunchBase that is a huge database of popular <a href="http://www.internetriot.com/category/general-internet/" rel="nofollow">internet</a> companies, people, investors, and more.  You can learn the details of a company such as the people that work at it, when it was founded, and where all of their office buildings are located.</p>

<p>Twitter has a search tool that allows you to search what other users at &#8216;tweeting&#8217; about.  This tool is a great way to find help on a subject, popular trends, or maybe a deal on a product you&#8217;re looking for, or a link about a subject.
