What is Technorati?

Technorati is an Internet search engine for searching blogs, competing with Google and Yahoo. As of June 2008, Technorati indexes 112.8 million blogs and over 250 million pieces of tagged social media. Technorati is a great tool for bloggers to get the competitive advantage.  Using Technorati you can learn what other bloggers are writing about a topic that you maybe writing about and you can see what the reaction is by the readers.  Find out what is working best on other blogs in your niche and do the same on yours.

Yahoo! Pipes is a tool to combine, filter, aggregate, and mashup content on the internet from a variety of sources.  The tool is free to use and you can see the design of anyone’s Pipe to learn how to design your own.  You can mashup RSS feeds, Yahoo Maps, and more.

What you may not know about Yahoo! Pipes

You can create a Pipe in minutes and is a great tool to aggregating content on the internet into 1 simple and easy to use RSS feed.  Providing a few RSS feeds you can join them and output just one feed for your RSS tool to read.

What is Meebo?

Meebo is a web based instant messenging service that allows you to use your existing instant messenger account with AIM, GTalk, Yahoo, MSN, IRC and more.  You can login, get your buddy list, and instant message away with having to download anything, just use your web browser.

What you may not know about Meebo

With Meebo, you can actually login to more than 1 account at a time.  This is a great to not having to install, say 3 IM clients on your computer and monitoring all there friends lists.  Log in to all of them simlutaneously with Meebo and chat it up with your friends.

What is Woot?

Woot’s tagline is “One Day, One Deal”. Generally, Woot offers one product per day until its stock of that item is sold out or the product is replaced at midnight Central Time with the next offering. If a product sells out during its run, the next item still does not appear until midnight, except during Woot-Offs. Products are never announced beforehand.  Customers normally may buy up to three of the day’s item, although occasionally the site has limited product quantity to one per customer.  Woot does not reveal sales figures unless the item sells out.  (read more at Wikipedia)
